Restricted Airspace

• Crystal Airport (MIC) Class D airspace extends approximately 5 NM in radius from the airport, reaching into the southern portion of Brooklyn Park near the Brooklyn Center border. • Anoka County-Blaine Airport (ANE) is approximately 8 NM northeast and has Class D airspace that may extend into the eastern portions of Brooklyn Park near East River Road and the Mississippi River corridor. Commercial operators in the river corridor area should check ANE Class D boundaries. LAANC authorization is available for the ANE Class D area.
• The Mississippi River corridor forms the eastern border of Brooklyn Park. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (National Park Service) corridor runs along the river, and the NPS prohibits drone takeoff and landing within the designated corridor without a special use permit. Commercial operators along the river corridor — including the area near the Brooklyn Park River Trail and the Coon Rapids Dam area — must coordinate with the NPS Mississippi River Visitor Center for flights within the corridor.
• The Arden Hills National Guard training site (TCAAP) is approximately 12 NM east and may have occasional TFRs for military training that affect the broader north metro. Commercial drone operators should check NOTAMs before flying, especially during training exercises. MSP International Airport Class B airspace does not extend to Brooklyn Park, but MSP approach corridors may have traffic overhead at higher altitudes.
