Restricted Airspace

• Oakland sits in uncontrolled Class G airspace with no controlled airspace overhead. The Memphis Class C outer ring (10 NM radius from MEM) is approximately 25 NM to the west and does not extend over Oakland. No LAANC authorization is required for routine commercial drone operations in Oakland.
• Olive Branch Airport (OLV) in Mississippi is approximately 15 NM to the southwest and is an uncontrolled field. It does not have controlled airspace, but operators should be aware of its traffic pattern when flying in southern Oakland.
• Oakland's position in uncontrolled Class G airspace, combined with its location on the eastern edge of the Memphis metro, makes it one of the least restrictive areas for commercial drone operations in the region.
